Solution: Blending Classic Style with Modern Functionality

Our design began with a clear vision: to incorporate the farmhouse-style charm Anthony wanted, while keeping the details true to the Victorian era of the home. We achieved this by creating banquette seating with grooved panels that evoke a rustic, traditional feel. To tie the design back to the period architecture, we added Ogee mouldings—classic, ornate trim details that perfectly match the home’s original features. The result was a seamless blend of old and new, enhancing the home’s aesthetic while providing a practical seating solution.

Enhancing the Space with Modern Tech Features

Functionality was key, but Anthony also wanted some modern touches that would make life easier for his family. We integrated several tech features into the banquette seating, making it as practical as it was stylish. At knee level, we installed warm LED lighting, which casts a soft, inviting glow across the floor. This subtle lighting not only adds atmosphere but also serves as a practical feature for late-night use, making the dining area easier to navigate after dark.

One of the standout features we added was wave-on and wave-off switches. These innovative, touch-free switches allow the family to control the built-in USB charging ports with ease. Perfect for a busy household with multiple devices, the USB ports ensure that the children can plug in their devices without cluttering the dining table with cables or searching for chargers.

To enhance the dining experience even further, we incorporated hidden vibration speakers into the back panel of the seating. These speakers, connected via Bluetooth to Anthony’s phone, turn the entire banquette seat into a high-quality sound system. Whether it’s background music during dinner or a playlist for family gatherings, the discreet audio system blends modern entertainment with the seating’s traditional design.

Smart Storage Solutions with Child Safety in Mind

Storage was another crucial consideration for Anthony’s family. With young children, the family needed an accessible yet secure way to store everyday items. To achieve this, we designed the banquette seating with a lift-up lid, allowing for easy access to the storage space inside. This hidden storage is perfect for keeping dining essentials, toys, or other items out of sight but within reach.

However, safety was a priority. Understanding the challenges of a household with small children, we added magnetic child locks to the storage compartments. These locks prevent the youngest children from opening the lids, providing peace of mind for Anthony and his family while ensuring that the space remains functional for adults and older kids.
